Sogobiken Ryukyu Center

Sogobiken Ryukyu Center is located in Motobu, Okinawa. Okinawa has been called “Ryukyu” since ancient times and “Motobu” in the local dialect means “flying towards infinity”. Situated amongst the mountains, the center overlooks the sea with Ie Island in view. Covering 9900 square meters, the center was built from April 2020 to December 2021.

First envisioned by Yoshihide Uezu when he was a young boy, the Ryukyu Center has now, at long last, come to be.

About Mr. Yoshihide Uezu

Born in Chatan, Okinawa, in 1950, Uezu has devoted himself to seeking truth, cultivating the heart, and leading all in self-improvement through moral teaching.

Mr. Uezu’s Teachings

“Truth”, as the ultimate truth.

“Practice”, as action toward improvement and development.

“Enlightenment”, as living in your family, in your work, in society, while expressing your true self as source, as true essence.

Enliven all by living with inward strictness and outward kindness.

Through such teachings, with constant, true love, Uezu leads us to humanity’s ultimate goal – awakening to the one source, true essence: life.

Our Mission

“To achieve world peace, firstly each and every person’s heart must be at peace. And true peace is found living in unity with all.” This is one teaching. The Ryukyu Center is a place where we each strive to lift ourselves up, with self-improvement and the transformation of humanity as our goal. Regardless of nationality or colour, of religion or sect, of age or gender, of status or wealth, all those searching for true happiness, yearning for world peace, wishing for coexistence and sharing with all: come to the Ryukyu Center to learn together, to grow together, and with hands joined we can create a beautiful new world of harmony.
